I’ve been planning to do “Friday Favorites” posts on Fridays where I briefly talk about various things I’ve been into for the past week including streaming movie/TV recommendations for your weekend, but this certainly trumps all other favorite things from this week:
Meet Luke! My parents adopted Luke, a Golden Retriever, on Monday, April 28. Isn’t he a pretty boy?!?! Just look at that derpy face.
The family Golden Retriever, Max, passed away last year after 15 years of being spoiled rotten, and my parents have been looking for a new one on and off since. I happened to see a photo of a Golden Retriever rescue from out-of-state that was free to a good home on a local facebook group; I told my father about it, who in turned called my mother to tell her about it. A former co-worker of my mother’s had also tagged her in a post of him on another group. The girl who made the post happened to be the daughter of someone my father knows from his boating adventures on the nearby river. My parents went out to look at him during lunch, and needless to say, they decided he was a keeper.
Here’s a photo of Luke’s post adoption bath: (one time we asked some family that showed Golden Retrievers what kind of shampoo they used, and they said White Rain and Suave, so we’ve used it on our dogs ever since)
He looks to be about 6-8 months old and has an amazingly chill temperament, they haven’t even heard him bark yet after four days. He’s super sweet, but he isn’t super energetic. He does have a sore toe where it looks like the nail was caught and torn, so maybe when his foot gets to feeling better he will be a little more spry. He goes to the vet on Saturday for an exam and vaccinations, that was the soonest he could get in with the crazy tornadoes and flash flooding that recently went on (the phone lines at the vet’s have been down this week).
I’m sure I’ll be doing another post on Luke’s vet visit and the new goodies he’s likely going to score at the pet store over the weekend.
I brought my Wheaten Terrier, Samson, over to play with Luke on Tuesday. Judging from Luke’s reaction, I’m pretty sure Sam just whispered, “Hail Hyrda” to him. (If you don’t get that, you need to go see Captain America: Winter Solider, ASAP!)
I’m going to leave you guys with a picture of puppy butts:
Have a great weekend!
